Chapter: 19



 The waves crashed against the rocky cliff walls. The wind blew violently over the great ocean view. Thunder rolled across the darkened sky. Standing at the peak of the cliff, observing the violent, yet calming spectacle was a female figure, baring the appearance of a witch, but with a somewhat squid-like theme to her attire.


 "I can feel him Mother" she said. "He is approaching Death City this moment." Though there was nobody with her, a response came. "He is hurting" a whispering female voice said from the air itself. "Though he is unable to show it, Bryce, he's hurting. The countless years, he spent in solitude, as well as the guilt and raw agony of the life he lived before, have almost completely made him a hollow shell. But a small sliver of that shy, kind boy still endures." Bryce nodded. "I know, Mother" she replied. Holding out her hand, Bryce summoned a broom from thin air. "I hope I can reach that boy." With that, she sat on her broom and took to the thundering sky.

 The patch lab was silent and dark. The only illumination was Stein's computer. The doctor was at work, typing upon his keyboard and occasionally turning the dial in his head. Suddenly, he began to clench his head, feeling like something was burrowing into it. He began to hear a voice speaking in his head. "I've been observing you Franken Stein" it said. "You bare the potential to be my disciple. Your only obstacle is the fear within you." Beads of sweat were already forming on Stein's face. "Whoever you are, I'm not interested in being your 'disciple'" he responded. "I'm afraid I wasn't giving you an option" replied the voice. "You shall be my disciple, and we shall finally remove the corrupting emotion and conflict from this world." Stein slowly got up from his seat. "I invite you to try and make me" he said firmly. A moment of silence passed before the voice spoke again. "I shall comply."

 Giger stopped his motorcycle at the gates of Death City. As he dismounted from his vehicle, he lifted a finger to the gates. With just a tap from his pointer finger, the gates broke off their hinges and flew back a few yards. "Terminate" he said. Suddenly a light appears behind Giger, growing into a large portal. Several biomechanical creatures stampede out of the portal, flooding into the streets of Death City. "Now to complete the challenge I've been given" he said as he started toward the patch lab.
